Visitors from T'boli tribe, of which Aurea and her family are members. They brought the chicken in the background, as a gift to me.

The tribal couple walked barefoot several kilometers through the jungle and across a river to visit the farm

The old lady and man are in their 90s. In their tribal camp across the river and up the mountain, they wear few if any clothes. But when they visit Maitum, they wear second-hand clothes that have been given them.

The couple brought their native instruments on one visit. The man is playing a two-string instrument.

The lady's instrument is a length of bamboo with 5 steel strings running the length of the tube, which she plucks like a harp.

The hut is a simple bamboo structure with a thatched roof and dirt floor. The couple have been married about a year and the woman takes care of the baby alone in the forest for more than 12 hours a day, while her husband works on the farm.

The hut is about a kilometer's walk from the dirt road that passes through the village. They have no electricity or running water, except for the river that passes by their hut about half a kilometer away.
